Expedition towards the pole of cold

      In the beginning of January the tour towards the pole of cold along "the road of bones" will take place.
      Yakutsk - Oimyakon - Yakutsk.
      Oimyakon is the pole of cold. Oimyakon valley is the most severe place on earth where permanent residents live.
      The lowest officially registered temperature which was recorded in 1933 is - 67,7C.
      In year 1924 the academician Sergey Obruchev recorded - 71,2C.

The program

Day 1
     Arrival in Yakutsk. Accommodation at the hotel. City tour with visit to the Museum of History and Culture of the North.
Visiting Mammoth Museum, a copy of a baby mammoth Dima is stored there.
     Visiting complex "Chogur-Muran." Making the acquaintance of Yakut husky - progenitress of Canadian husky. Dog sledding on the lake Ytyk-Kyuel.
     Visiting the "Kingdom of Permafrost" - in the ice bar there will be treating with stroganina (sliced frozen fish) with alcoholic drinks. Sightseeing Ice Sculpture hall - there is the Ice copy of Picasso's "Guernica", the sculpture "Venus de Milo" and other masterpieces of world culture.

Day 2
     Early departure to Khandyga on specially prepared cars (420 km), travel time 8 - 10 hours. Stop at the museum complex Cherkekh.
     This road - Kolym highway - has a terrible name, "The Road of the bones." Thousands of people died during the construction of this road and the development of this region. Hotel accommodation in Khandyga.

Day 3
     Drive to Tomtor village, where the famous aerodrome is situated (airlift of American airplanes to Russia was made via this aerodrome during the war, three of them have been crashed, their fragments are situated in the village neighbourhood).
     There is a small museum in the village and you can meet there Chiskhan - Yakut Santa Klaus - the master of the ever-frost.

Day 4
     Drive to Oimyakon - the harshest place in the world with permanent residents. The lowest officially registered temperature which was recorded in 1933 is - 67,7 C. In year 1924 the academician Sergey Obruchev recorded - 71,2 C.

Day 5-6
     Transfer to Yakutsk with a tour of Stalin camps. Hotel accommodation, purchase of souvenirs.

Day 7
     Departure to Moscow or Novosibirsk.

The cost includes:
